4.6 litre Ranger
What stops Ford from putting a 4.6 in a ranger I drove an explorer with a 4.6 and it was fast!!!!! it was also a rental....

Fords' R&D folks built one Ranger with a 5.4 Lightning drivetrain in it.
The fit was a total custom job. Hopefully they will try out a 4.6 in a Ranger all decked out in Harley trim and call it a Sportster.

Maybe if the next rendition of the Ranger uses the new Exploder frame as a base....
Rangers sell quite well without the v8, and with GM making that I6 with the front diff in the oil pan only for the TB/Envoy clones, what's the rush--especially itith Ford's troubles as of late financially.
