It submitted before I could type my question.
Here it is: Recently the front end of my Ex feels like it doesn't have any up and down motion to it. It still handles fine just I feel every bump. Is it Shocks? Springs? Both?
If it's springs where can I get some U or V code springs and how can I tell.
Have you noticed a minor drop in your front end height? I'd be crawling under that thing real quick to see if leaf springs, shackle bolts, spring hangers, etc. hasn't broken. Broken leaf springs are a pain ... dealt with them on a 38ft. fifth-wheel.
I just checked. The springs appear to have a negative arch, no breaks or cracks. I measured the distance between the bump stop and the top of the plate that hits it. It measured 1.25 inches. Don't know if thats good or bad. Do I need new springs? Can I get spring over shocks for this beast?
I would put in a 3 inch hanger lift, decent shocks and that will give your C code springs room to move. U or V code springs will make your truck ride like a one ton F350.
