I was on a Northwest flight today, and in their little inflight magazine, they said that at the upcoming Detroit Auto show Ford is going to reveal a new Bronco. I know, I know it has been said before, but there was a picture and everything. From what I remember it is based on the old 60's version, it had a turbo charged 2.0 diesel. It also said it had a shot of nitrous, they said it produced some pretty good power. Well just thought I would let you guys know what I heard.
A shot of propane to a diesel is like a shot NOS to a gas engine. I think I have that right. I just heard that the other day. A new bronco would be nice.
Just to clear some stuff up: Propane injection is nothing like nitrousoxide injection. Nitrousoxide is an Oxygenator (it increases the Oxygen concentration of the fuel/air mix). Propane is not an Oxygenator.
You can use propane injection with gasoline just the same as with diesel. Propane increases the octain of the fuel making it safer to run higher compression or higher turbo boost.
But back on topic: What magazine was this article in? I would like to see the picture. Could anybody scan it in?
"Chevy and GMC think they have the full-size 4-door truck to themselves for 19 months, but Ford reportedly is only 6 months behind with a 4-door full-size Bronco to compete against Tahoe/Yukon. Chrysler has a product called Adventurer (off the big Ram) that also could compete, but it has been mum about plans." quoted from an online magazine (wards auto world waw.wardsauto.com)
also, i found a few pics that what I thought was a new bronco, but turns out to be nothing than an excursion chop job, check out the gallery

I thought that ford's excursion goes against the surburban/yukonXL, then the expedition = tahoe/yukon, and exploder = can't remember.
Soo, why would ford need the bronco anymore?
I definitely see the old style bronco in it, I love those style Bronco's, but I would like to see the full-size remastered, its unlikely, but who knows?
Hmmm... So that should be the new Bronco? HOW MUCH?! I want one.. That is super cool... Is that how they would come stock Winch and tires? .. Any idea when Ford thinks they will come out with this? What about 2006 ? 2007? at all? Start saving up for one
here we are worrying about it and all we had to do was wait a day. My faveorate part is the oldschool instroment cluster with a built in additude guage
