Ok, heres the thing. Ever since I threw a rod in my truck and split the block, I have run into problem after problem. First, once we put the new engine in, the power steering didn't work right from the beginning, it clicks sometimes and is louder than normal. Second, the A/C clutch would kick on and then kick right back off when i would have the A/C on or defrost, but i was able to fix that problem, seems the gauge was broken when i filled the freon back into the A/C and i didnt put enough, but now it works fine. I greased the slip yolk about 2 weeks ago, and i have had no problems with it, it works great now. But, now my front end is messed up, i dont know whats wrong. Its like the suspension is out, but i checked it yesterday and everything looked ok, so i dont know what the deal is, but i know somethings wrong. Another thing is my brakes havent worked right either since we changed the engine out, but we did nothing with the brake lines so i dont know why they are acting funny, its like they grip way to easy when i press the brake pedal, even sometimes the pedal has no pressure in it. And one last thing to top everything off, I think my cataylic converter got shot in the process when my engine block cracked. Now it clicks really bad, sometimes louder than the engine itself. I have stock dual exhaust on it and it sounds great for a 6 cyl. but I'm not sure what happened to the converter, but ever since my engine cracked it has been makin kinda of like a clicking sound. Any help with any of this would be greatly appriciated, I just hope i'm over looking something and its something really easy to fix, because i just spent way too much on a new engine, and I have very little money to spend on it anymore. Thanks!
do you get any brake lights coming on? Just a thought, it may be your new engine is creating a way better vacume for the brake booster, making it easier to work the pedal
No, I haven't had any brake lights come on, recently that is. A couple months ago i had the rear ABS sensor replaced, not to mention the seaperator plate in the trans replaced too, and they worked great then, but now, they just seem odd. Maybe it is the new vaccuum sys and im just not used to it.
did you notice any brake fluid loss? because if the pedal just goes down easier, then thats probably what it is, if it goes all the way down to the floor with hardly any resistance then you have some problems...
