i have no power from my main wiring harness to my trailer tow harness. i have power on the main harness for tail lights etc , but none on the wiring that goes to the trailer plug in sockets. i have the new updated trailering harness. i can't seem to find any fuse for the system and i can't locate a wiring diagram to track down the problem. wondering if someone can help, please. It's a 1998 f150, s/c, 4x4, 5.4L, auto trans, auto on headlamps.
thanks
thanks blueoval for your welcome and awesome reponse time. also thanks for the proper location to post such questions. but thanks to such great advice and knowledge from the members i was able to solve my problem in two minutes after two years of frustration. the problem is, on a f150 (1998) with trailer tow package there is a tiny wee fuse box mounted on the left inner fender beside the circuit breaker box, (under the hood). this is not mentioned in the owners manual or shop manual. the other problem is that it is so small and is taped up (looks factory tape) that it looks like a wiring plug. unwrap the tape lift off the little lid and there and behold are two micro fuses. the 20amp one controls the power to the harness. replace fuse and set to go.
again thanks

I had to replace two "relays" in about the same place under the hood (f578-148192-aa) relays....gray....about one inch square.
The issue was that when I hooked up the harness for the trailer the running lights for the trailer came on before I even turned my truck lights on.
Problem......the relays were stuck in the on position.......both of them left and right, can you believe that. Replaced the relays everything fine now.
