superchips, don`t waste your $ on the Hyperjunk. Superchip`s gives you more bank for the buck you are able to adjust for gears and tires, scan the computer for problems and pick from three stages.
NO programmer will allow you to set the speedo for new tires or gears for a SuperDuty.
I have a HYTERTECH and it works pretty good, brought back the power I lost with larger tires.
SUPERCHIPS does have the code scanner that will display trouble codes if needed.
Both units will provide the same features and options for performance. The SC does have 3 different octane settings for power 87 Performance, 91-93 towing, and 91-93 performance. Hypertech has stock, 87 performance and 91-93 performance.
Hypertech says they recalibrate for tire size changes. my 01 f250 v10 auto shifts at 5200 rpm when in drive, held to the floor. Why would any body spend a bunch of money on a power programer to raise shift point when the moter flatens before the stock shift points?
I have a PPIII and it will NOT recal the speedo. That feature only applies to certian vehicles.
Yes I was mad to find out that it could not fix the speedo, but after I messed with all the various settings on the unit I was happy with the performance gains.
Mr. Heavy, what kind of gains have you seen,. I am looking for Experience with a supercharger, Can I get by without larger injectors or headers or mass air meter. can I simply install the blower, air filter, cat back and go like hell?
You need to get with MRROTNDOG on the SC. He is running one in an X and has plenty of info, I'm sure he can guide you down the forced induction path.
From my previous research, you do not need headers. I was told they tend to rob the low end TQ. For the adverage user this loss would be hard to detect, but it does exist on the dyno shgeets.
I was told by ROTN that he was running larger injectors and trying to get the correct plug style since there are 2 versions to choose from.
Look here for more info. There was a post for a recent install of a Whipple on a V10: http://www.got-pressure.com/
No problem. That's where I got caught. I found the area on HYPERTECH where it broke down the features by make and model. Needless to say I got upset, but I'm glad the other features work really well. I'm going to try a 1715 in a month or two to see what differences they have in the real world.
I'm going to make it a point to collect a lot of data ( MPGs/HP/TQ) throughout the year. I have a few goodies under the hood and think the real world numbers will show what you can do to get the HP up.
This is not going to be just the programmer, I have a few things I'm working on.
I did not know that. Been trying to order one from them all day and something is wrong with there site or server, so I found this other place. I didn`t know the would match the price.
