Fordcredit.com Pre-approval
Hey I submitted my info to www.fordcredit.com, and got pre-approved. What does this really mean when I visit a dealer? I'm planning to buy a Supercab 4X4 Ranger at some point.

Unfortunately, not much. The dealer will still have to have you fill out a credit application, because the on-line version doesn't get all the info that the local Ford Credit branch needs. Also, it doesn't tell you what rate at which you're approved- only the local Ford Credit office can do that. At least you weren't turned down, so you know credit's halfway decent.

Thanks. I guess halfway decent is better than rotten! I've been playing around with different rates, insurance costs, etc. on the various web boards. The costs of owning new are high! I'm looking at $350.00+ per month for 60 months, plus insurance. Having a payment bites after years of driving used POS's. I sure do like that 04 Ranger though.
