year of engine?
I was wondering if anyone know how to read the yearof an engine from the casting on the block I know it was changed.
The original 223 blew & this was replaced. still 6 cl but not sure of the year.

Look on the left side of the engine block, as you are looking towards the Windscreen, just above the oil pan, but just in front of the breather down pipe. There should be a set of Letters & a series of #'s, which will tell what year it is when looked up in a FoMoCo Interchange manual.
