alanscott-That is what is call a lenticular cloud. It is caused by the wind and indicates "really strong" winds at that altitude. I am almost positive (notice I say almost) that is a picture of Mt. Augustine in Kamishak Bay (Alaska) with the picture taker east-looking west. Am I right?

There's a picture on the net of a fire that was in, I want to say Montana. It's a humongous fire, overlooking a lake with some deer in the water. Even though it is a tragic thing to see, it is the most beautiful picture of a fire.

Thanks for the Photo, yes its in MT, the Bitterroots are in the southwestern corner of the state. I spent a week hiking in the area two years after this fire, the whole area was completley devastated, but is now recovering quickly.
Those are Elk in the river, which is likely the Big Hole river, its a cow and her calf.
