input shaft length

I am looking at buying an engine adapter for my 69 f100 2wd. It says it will work with a 6.5" input shaft. Do any of you know the length of the input shaft on a 3-on-the tree?
thanks
brad

The T-18 in my garage measures out at approx. 6 1/2 inches, wonder why they wouldn't be the same?

yes, I checked the one that was out of my 68 it was a 3 on the tree and it measures 6.5 inches from tip to mounting surface.

edit: this was also a 360 powered truck, just in case that matters.

This is just a thought, I have a 390 that I want to put a Toploader ( originally from a 390 GT Fairlaine ) behind, but I have to use a CAR bellhousing since the TRUCK bellhousing is to deep. This is due to the small block tranny having a longer input shaft, vs the FE tranny. This is probly what they mean't. As to why a car with a 390 would get a shorter input shaft vs a truck with a 360 getting a longer one, who knows? Al
