clutch problem

I have a 93 Ranger, 4.0, 5-speed with 185000 miles..... Have a problem with clutch not releasing completely, mostly in cold, damp weather. I'll come to a stop in traffic, and it will creep - try to pull out of gear and find it can't be done - act's like clutch is partially engaged. Could this just be a hydraulic pressure leak?? Doesn't always happen, but almost always in colder weather, NOT in warm........ I've had truck about 2 years, and don't know if anything's been done to clutch/trans.

Make sure you still have fluid in the clutch resevior. Might want to have someone bleed the clutch rear good. Could also be the master cylinder or slave cylinder going bad. I'd try bleeding it first. Good luck

Thanks Brian - I'll give that a try! Frustrating part is it has fluid, doesn't seem to loose any, and only seems to have problem in cold weather. I'll try bleeding it first - slave cylinder usually first to go if bleeding doesn't help??

I'm not sure which would go first. On my 98 (maybe yours is the same?), you have to drop the tranny to remove the slave cylinder. Hopefully, if someone else has replaced the clutch, they did the slave cylinder at the same time. I'm sure others here will have good suggestions for you...
