truck i.d.
i'm looking at a truck that i believe looks like 78 but i'm told it is a 76 rebodied. i'm wondering if there is any way to tell if the chassis is 76 or if the truck is a 78 and he is confused
also can any one tell me if they know of any differences between a D60 front from a 76 and a D60 front from a 78-79

Check the VIN tag on the door. You can also take the truck to the local Dept of Motor Vehicles or Highway Patrol and they can inspect it. The title has to match the VIN or it is no good. I would not buy the truck until it had been inspected by an official.

The problem with trying to Perfectly ID this truck is tedious.
78's got 76 designed & labled parts especially wiring harnesses.
There could still be buck tags on that could help.
The frame itself has 2 positions for VIN numbers.
In 78 the last set of number in the VIN will be somewhere between AE0001 to CK9999
If it ends with say...... ie: R12089 then it isn't anything past 77.
