Big Tank update

I picked up the Tank from the radiator shop Dec 19, having finally got all the parts for the fan assembly and installing them. It ran a little rough on the way home (heck, it had been sitting for at least 3 months) and right when I got home a wire for the heater started smoking...

So, today being a day off and pretty darn nice to boot, I decided to drive it some more. Started up on the fourth try and was running a lot better (I put in 5 gallons of gas and some fuel stabilizer). Oh, and I also pulled the fuse for the heater switch. Anyway, it drove great, no smoke from under the dash, no overheating, not much traffic, what a great New Years treat!

Hopefully in a couple of weeks I can get some pics of the old fan assembly pieces...

Sounds good Jeff, and you're learning how to keep these things running. Who needs a heater anyway??!!

The more it runs the better it will run - enjoy!

No heater needed in St. Louis -- it's topping out at 70 degrees today!

I hope to drive the Tank some more tomorrow (chickened out driving it to work today) -- gah, I hope I'm not contributing that much to global warming... :P
