sticker says 4100lbs gvwy but i tryed to pick up a 1 ton(2000lbs) of pellets for my grandmoter and the truck did a weely and was unsafe to move so i had to take a 1/2 tone in two trips what gives
4100 lb gvwr is the towing capacity.... an f-150 is a 1/2 ton truck... therefore 1000 lb in the bed would be about the max ( at least the max that it is rated for)
Take the GVRW of your truck and subtract the unloaded weight of your truck from that number. The number you get is what you can safely load in the bed.
For example, by the sticker my GVRW is 6100 and i had my truck weighed at the scales in working trim and it came out to about 3200 lbs. That means i can safely load almost 3000 lbs in my bed and drive.
Wth a GVRW of 4100 lbs the 1000 lbs of pellets was probably still overloading your truck by 100-200lbs.
