code question
checked truck for codes and come up with 21(ect out of rang), 24(act out of rang), and 67(neutral/drive swith open or ac on)67(clutch switch circuit failure) 67(mpl sensor out of test range or ac on) i know that 67 is do to the wire not connected to ac pump. so what im asking would any of these cause my truck not to start? for code 21 and 24 would that mean they need to be replaced or would this mean that its not able to reach these for testing? i replace my tfi module with a wells for around $40 and truck ran for about 5 minutes and quite. the truck started out with just a bucking and over time got worst to the point that it wont start at all. when it would buck i notice that my tachometer would start jumping or cut out. this is on a 89 f150 4.9L straight six.

21 and 24 were probably from pulling the codes with the engine cold. Does the engine turn over? If it doesn't then there is a fault in the neutral or clutch safety switch. Otherwise, none of those would prevent the computer from running the engine.

yes truck does turn over. i so far have replaced my distributor, tfi module(but before the new distributor). fuel and eec relays along with wiring harnests. while under the hood i also noticed a hose going from the tad and tab solenoids to the purge can burnt to the exaust. another thing i would like to mention is that when i twist my distributor my fuel pump kicks in and i hear a clicing noise wich sounds like from the injectors. is this normal?
