Air Shocks?????
My truck seams to feel like it is bottoming out...so I had it checked out by my trusted restoration mechanic and I need some leaf springs....now I have New shocks on them but i still feel like i bottom out (without the bump stops front & rear)...now will some air shocks solve my problem or what??? Don't want to bring in the New Year with $500 dollars worth or parts that I don't need...HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!
James
Zuki is correct. The air shocks may solve a symptom on the rear but won't fix the problem and won't work on the front. Safety is the main issue here. Look for a donor truck or put an ad here and see if anyone has a speare set or contact a local spring maker, may be cheaper than a re pop set.

At a minimum you need sound main leaves on your truck. I would disassemble the springs and inspect. They are probably hurting if you are actually bottoming them out on the snubbers. Air shocks on a straight axle doesn't sound like a good plan to me. Not that I've ever tried it.
Maybe you could look at having the leafs re-arced-much cheaper than a new set.
Also, air shocks are nice to fine tune the ride height.
Up here in the great white north they tend to blow out in the cold (-28 C this morning!) but in your neck of the woods,I don't think that is a problem!!
