Exhaust Vibration
I have a very pronounced vibvration between 1500 and 1750 RPM, under light load, dealer claims he is aware of problem and is waiting for Ford to come up with a solution. Says it may be related to turbo mounting plate. Not all truck exhibit this problem and may be related to injection programming also. While I hope this is resolved soon.
Many other problems also cropping up on truck with only 1000 kms on it, will comment on these in later posts.

I have the same type vibration; seems to be worse with some load on engine(in 4 wheel drive). dealer has had the "noise sensors" on different parts of the frame. next week, they will put them on the turbo to see if that's where the vib. is coming from. other than that, love the truck ; 250 sd, fx4 lariat, 6.0, auto, longbed, ext. cab; build date 08/03

Do a search on this forum for drone. All the earlier 6.0's have it. I don't know about the newer ones. On mine with a 5speed auto and 3.73 diff gives me the drone at 1750 RPM under slight load. It is the turbo bracket. There is a fix supposed to come out. My service tech says he can go to any 6.0 on the lot and the drone is there at some level. Make sure you list it as a problem the next time you take it in for service to get it on the record.

I too have had this noise that starts at approx. 1550 and goes to 1750 where it becomes noisiest. It starts to diminish above 1750 and finally quiets down above 2000 RPM. It is I believe a harmonic vibration in the exhaust header and pipes. Why Ford hasn't come up with a remedy yet is beyond me. I did not mention it to my dealer when I had it in for the recall in Dec. maybe I should do that soon. My friend has a newer 2003 F250 his was built around April or May and his makes the same noise. Does anyone have a newer 2004 without this noise? Are the new 6.0L Dsls still having this exhaust noise as well as the reflash noise and poor mileage problems?
