A few weeks ago, I had posted asking if a conversion could be done to get a wiper delay installed on my '68. Several of you responded with yes, and how to get it done. I want to say thanks.
I went to the bone yard and grabbed three switch/delay assemblies and was charged a whopping three dollars a piece. I got three knowing they were cheap and figured if one fails I'll always have spares. Well the install was very smooth as was explained by those that responded to my earlier post. The first switch plugged right in and functioned fine. I used a couple of thin nuts as spacers on the back side of the dash to equal the 1/4" required. Took the trusty Dremel and cut off 1/2" of the shaft and ground a flat in the shaft for the set screw on the ****. Bingo it was done.
Total time about 45 min.
Then two nights ago a VERY rare snow storm hits here in 'Vegas and I got to test out the new set up. I love it! No more turning it on and off repeatedly with the drizzle or snow in this case.
Here in the southwest desert we get more light rain than steady or heavy rain so this setup is going to be just the ticket.
I get 2 to 12 sec. delay depending on my setting with the switch that I installed from a '84.
Now the last thing I have left to do is connect the washer wire to the correct pole as was described in the previous posts.
I am very happy with the results. Thanks to all these people with their help and posts during their installs that guided me.

Yep. Pretty heavy. While I was out in it though, the heaviest downfall had not occured yet. The wiper set up did great on the fast delay setting. I ended up with about 2" of white stuff all over my yard and other areas of town got up to 4" deep.
Hawkeye, I hear ya on the snow storm, was pretty cool took the kids out for their first time in the snow. They had a ball, eventhough I didn't get to drive my truck in the snow it still got some. I have a pic of it with about 3-4in of snow on it. Hey on the wiper delay,Let me know when your done with yours completely and you have a spare afternoon and I'll let you come over and do mine.LOL Happy New Year all!
