indeed. why switch over. better milage and better performance than a carb. if you just switch over to carb your gonna get worse performance and gas milage.
If you switch over, you should stay within legal limits of exhaust emissions if your cats are not all used up. But that doesnt matter, cause you dont want to switch. I see nothing good coming from the switch. Ofourse the parts dealer wants you to believe its a great idea.
Why? Well, going from stock, you would gain ALOT of power throughout the rpm range if you chose the right carb and intake. Plus it is much much cheaper than comparable efi parts that will produce the same results.
That said, you would lose the driveability that your efi offers you. As well as the ability to pass a visual emmision inspection for your year model.
So the short answer is no, it won't pass. But it would improve your performance.
not if he switched over to near stock carb. he woul dhave to get a demon or holly carb for performance to get anything from it. but he can do some work on his efi for higher performance as well even if it is more expensive. simply put its not something i would recommend for a daily driver. it may not be i dunno.
