vin # decode?
I have been watching all the help that has been given to decode the vin plates, could the thread gods & gurus help with mine.
I thought that i bought a '69 F-250 4x4, but from what I have seen in the manufactures production #'s, I am not sure now.
Plate reads as follows
F26YCF82231
131 6 F260 3 81 A 24
06800 175 4000 16
Thanks for the help guys!

Don't worry, the consecutive unit production numbers for '69 ran from D82,000 thru G29,999.

can someone tell me what the E5 axle is off a 1972 F-100?
Or anything about this vin would be cool:
F11YRC71188
Y=360 4BBL, right?

E5= Dana 60 >>>> 4.10:1 gears.
Y= 360 > 2BBL
F11 = F100 4x4
R= San Jose (build plant)

Thanks for the reply...the truck has a stock appearing 4BBL intake manifold.
Also, is there any way to tell if the DANA 60 is a locking unit or not without pulling off the cover?
Thanks
