Good deal?

I have read a bunch of opinions concerning the 5.4l being somewhat underpowered for the F-250. However, I have the opportunity to purchase a new 2003 F-250, 5.4l 4x4, supercab, 8' bed, xlt, 3.73 Axle Ratio, Limited Slip Rear, a/c, etc... for approx. $24,000 after all rebates.

I feel like this is a very good deal, but wanted to hear your opinions. I won't be pulling anything heavy with it. Will use it for light duty stuff, yardwork, hauling plywood, etc... I realize the F-150 would probably better suit my needs, but it is more expensive than the 250.

I realize you can't say definitively, but would you be disappointed with the 5.4l for that price?

I feel like it is almost a deal I can't refuse, but am looking for some additional opinions.

Thanks in advance-
Darren

sounds likea really good deal to me, witht he supercab and 4x4 for that price. It does have 350 lb ft of torque, so there is no way it woudl be underpowered for what your trying to do. I have heard the complaining about power, but i also know some people that claim it has plenty of power, unless ur gonna try to pull a real heavy trailer or load all the time.

I can't believe somebody still has an 03' left.

That is a very good price. I know when I was looking at an 03' F250 with the V10, I was thinking I could get on for 26 or so in August/Sept. You're basically getting the same truck minus the V10 which is $500 option or so at invoice pricing.

I believe it's a pretty good deal although there is already 1 year of depreciation on the truck and almost 2 years. As far as power is, the 5.4 will do a pretty good job for you.
