Idle problems
I have a 99 F250 CC V10 4x4 auto that is driven pretty exclusively by my wife. She had complained that a few times that while she was driving to work, the truck would just die on her while driving down the road. She puts it in neutral and it starts right up and it is if nothing is wrong. This happened 3 or 4 times when she finally decided that it was time to take it to the local dealer who "fixed" it. Said it was an Idle Control or something like that. 2 days later, same thing only this time I was driving. Coming to a stop, there was an electronic clicking under the dash followed by a sharp drop in RPM's. It didn't stall, however whenever I stepped on the gas it would bog down as if was going to stall. Check Engine light was flashing. I shut her down, put it in park and restarted the engine and it was as if nothing was wrong. Now it's back at the dealer and they seem to have no idea. They have spent the past 3 days driving it around trying to get it to die. Any ideas?

Idle problems
I had the same problem with a 94 Dodge Ram PU. It turned out that the trottle body was dirty. After $60-$70 for the dealer to clean it. I had no more problems for 15,000 miles. Then it did it again. This time I brought a $3.00 can of trottle body cleaner and did it myself. Then every 4-6 months I would shoot some in there again. Never had the problem again. I sure hope Ford does not have this problem too.
