Does anyone have a company or person they recommend to purchase the clear lens for for the Ex? I have a 2000 and would like to change out the front lenses to clear similar to the 2002+.
I have seen some online, but I am a afraid they may not fit correctly and that they are kind of cheap.
Those are APC lights, they are not the genuine lights that are on late 2001 No boundaries to 2004 Xs. I've heard and read that these light leak. By leak, I mean that they allow water to leak into the lense itself. The problem is at the back of the light where the bulb is located, but they may or may not have resolved the problem. There are more expensive but authentic ones. here
Toreador,
You are precisely correct. I have front APC clear markers I put on awhile back because I hated the bright orange on my white X. They were quite easy to put on. But the first river I went through, they actually filled up with water almost halfway. Most of it has leaked out after several months, but they will be wet inside until I trash them. They were only $29, though. I'll probably try the Monsta route on Ebay. Ford wants almost $500 EACH for the whole setup!
Try my dealership, they want $600 something for the whole setup. You're better off going to www.fordparts.com. They have the whole setup for about $400 and some cents. You don't have to pay as much for shipping. But since no one wants pay $400 and some change just for some headlights, I can't blame them. If APC made some good quality lights, I wouldn't think twice about getting some. Checkout Fordparts.com, you should be able to find the authentic clear markers for about $50 and some cents.
