Holley 770 exchanged for 670

I sent the Holley 770 back to summit today (unused). I'm having them exchange it for a 670 (consensus was, the 770 was overkill and the 670 would be "about right").

I was really sad. It was such a beautiful piece of metal. Now I have to wait a week or so for summit to turn it around... I can't wait to fondle the 670 as soon as it arrives. The Edelbrock performer 390 intake looks so sweet, I'm glad I got to keep it.

My wife thinks I'm more of a nut than she's thought of me previously.

There's a couple of auctions on Ebay that I'm watching... auction numbers:

2451581765

and

2450558583

Sub $100 for headers from Ebay sure seems a little more appealing than $559.00 from FPA.

Anyone have any thoughts on this?

On to another somewhat related topic...

Oh man, my head is ready to explode. The MSD pro billet distributor and 6AL ignition module came in this morning. This stuff looks so cool, if it works half as good as it looks, I'll be happy.

Now my problem, do I install the carb/intake manifold/distributor/ignition module/coil now or do I wait till I can get some headers and the 360 to 390 kit from www.larrysperformance.com?

Seems like doing everything at once ("while I'm in there") has it's merits.

While I'm asking question here... does anyone know of other "kits" like the one from Larrys? It never hurts to shop around.

Happy new year!

you will have to wait to install the intake, carb, and ignition till your doing putting the 360 to 390 lit in it, then when your all done put the headers on.

I would install the ignition, dist., coil now, that way it is running and it all is easily installed on the 390. You need to R&R the dist anyway and the ignition will not be changed with the 390 kit.
