Went "Yarding" today, miles away with info from freinds. I found a 57 p/up with pretty good body. I can get the front half from rear of cab forward for $200, he'll cut and load! No drivetrain, but rest of truck has a Flareside with no fenders on it, longer one, maybe 8 or if 9 was available? Wood is gone, but looks like removed, not rotted, and x-overs pretty good shape. Is there a market for this parts? I think I can get whole truck same price, just easier for me to haul and unload in parts. No wheels and axles sunk in ground now.
Also he had a running 60 with a six and automatic trans of all things. What trans is this? Is there a value in it? I have money down on it, selling for $400, whole truck. I was looking for metal for my 59 F-600 but this truck looks too nice to hack up. I might get both! use the 57 on big truck.
Also, on 57 with single lights, are fenders same as later dual light ones? Seems like hood is diff too, but I could leave as 57 if needed. Even the bumper looks good on this rig.
the 1960 with a 223 six cylinder and Ford-O-matic transmission if fairly rare. The six and auto is rarer that the V8 and auto, but most would like the V8 and auto. The tranny alone with the truck bellhousing for a six is worth half of what he's asking for the truck if not more.
1957 fenders are different that the 59or 60's. But A 1958 will work. The hood is different than a 59or60, but again will swap with a 1958. -4speed
