New Transmission troubles
I have a 1990 4wd 2.9l automatic Bronco II.
I had a new transmission put in about a month or so ago,and i seem to have lost most of what little acceleration it had.Did the mechanic screw something up,or is it still breaking in, or is it simply because the engine is worn out too and its having trouble pushing the new tranny?
I was planning on doing the 4.0L swap anyway, but i have heard things about the 4.0L needing a "Heavier Duty" A4LD,is this true or will the one i have work just fine?
One last thing, when im driving on a rougher road, i get this squeek coming from just down where the tranny sits and didnt do this before the mechanic touched it,did he forget to grease something maybe? or the mounts?
Ok,Thanks in advance!
I wouldn't expect any loss in power from a new tranny unless something is binding but I would give the engine a good check up, test fuel pressure, check for intake/exhaust leaks and check codes.
