I need a Carburator for my 72 with a 390.
I bought a reman autolite from the parts store but it is a peice of crap.
Is there a brand any of you suggest? a Holley?
thanks
You are going to get a lot of opinions on this one, but I am personally a huge fan of Edelbrock. I have always had bad luck with Holleys. I have a 600 cfm Edelbrock 4 bbl on my 390 with an elecric choke. It works great, and I've been running it hard for about 5 years now without any problems. If you currently have a 2 bbl I would definately recommend going to the 4 barrel. More power and generally better mileage if you keep your foot out of it.
Oops I said I have a 390, I have a 360.
I went and priced the Holley and edelbrock.
will a 600cfm be the size i need for my motor or something smaller? I like the idea on an electric choke, I also need to make sure it has accomidations for the kickdown switch lever, or need to get an adaptor.
I sure am glad this forum exists.
Thanks
