I once heard that a 460 drank about a gallon every forty minutes or so at idle, but I have no clue where this number came from. My only guess is that it comes from: truck gets 10 mpg, truck goes 7 mph at 800 rpm, therefore, 7 / 10 = .7 Then: .7 * 60 min = 42 min.
But I really don't know. The only way to be sure would be to top off the tank, let it idle a couple of hours for a fairly acurate reading, and then see what it takes to fill 'er back up again.
