Been gone a while
Hello again everyone, I've been gone for about 6 months, mainly because our computer fried and we just got a new one. Its good to be back!
I'm also ordering a new SD in February and have a couple questions. First off, I'm getting a CrewCab shortbox for sure but not sure if I should get the 350 or the 250. I dont have a preference either way other than I want to put 305's on it without lifting it if I can. ( a front level kit is not out of the question).
I also want my gear ratio to be right so would I be better off with 4.10's instead of 3.73's or would my gas mileage REALLY suck.
Which brings me to my last question, I'm debating between the 5.4 and the v-10. ( I dont want and cant afford the 6.0 diesel) Will the power of the V-10 be enough to overcome the lousy gas mileage or is the 5.4 sufficient with the 305's

i'd say go with the V-10... the extra 600 bucks is worth it in so many ways.... also, are you dead set on the shortbed?? i'd recommend the long bed for versitility. you'll want the lower gear ratio for the larger tires.... and i think you could probably get away with no lift, but a leveling kit would give you some room if you ever take her off road.
