Here is the situation. I just bought a truck that I am very happy with, but was told that it was an '04 with '04 motor. Bought the truck, and didn't verify for myself (I know how stupid this is). Took the truck home, and looked at the valve cover and it says that it is an '03.
I told the dealer I wanted a build date of 10/03 or newer, and that is what he said he found, but the door sticker says June of '03. We got the truck from a Portland, OR dealer and we are in Mountain Home, ID. He turned down a few other trucks because they weren't the '04 engine.
He is now saying that the dealer that he got it from did all the updates to it, and that is why the paper work he had said that it was an '04 engine. I am very happy with the truck so far, but am wondering what you guys would do.
1. Keep the truck and demand some $$$ since it is not an '04?
or
2. Make him find me an '04?
Definetly talk to the sales manager and see why his sales people can't get what you requested.....don"t know if you'll get anything more than piece of mind but they need to know you're unhappy.
