What kind of paint/interior scheme do you have? I plan on painting my 59 with a scheme I call "Frost Heave".
It will have a Ice White front end that will fade back to an almost Cobalt Blue. The interior will be painted the same blue with white seats, console, and fake white fur dash and steering wheel covers. It will get birch wood in the bed with brushed stainless strips.
What do you think?
I hope you get lotsa replies with pictures and links.
I'm wanting to paint my '51 a bit on the wild side, and I'm trying to get some ideas on color and style. These old fat fendered trucks are really good for multi-color paint jobs.
I'm looking more for contrasting colors with separation striping.
Send some pics of your truck over my way. I myself don't like the sounds of the paint job, but I'd have to wait and see what it turns out like. I'll do a end rendering in computer program. -4speed
Variety, cool, oldest son has 80 step side 300 I-6 4 spd 2wd gave it the black suede (black top coat flattened 60%) looks cool fun to play with, easy to repair parking lot rash or cover our less than stellar custom graphic attempts.
Mr 4 speed. Just looked at your album, your truck is beautiful. Hard to believe it's all original. Always liked that clor combination from Ford. Congrats!
I really like a two-tone paint job on these older trucks. jwcnj, I am knocked out with your scheme... another classy Jersey guy. One wonders, why two-tone? Is it nostalgia? Is it goin' '50's style? No. Aesthetically, these rounded, robust forms beg for some color... give us a reason to follow the flow. Give us something different! Artistically. himmelberg
I two toned mine just to make it a little different this time around. My truck is going to sit low and everything is modified on it so it seemed right to me to modify the paint scheme to leave no doubt that this is no stock truck. Last time I did this truck which was in the 80's it was bright red and only slightly modified. I see alot of this style Pick Up done in red these days, which I still think is a good color for them, but I wanted mine to stand out alittle from the rest.
Nice color combination. I've been a sucker for turquoise since I owned a tropical turquoise 57 Chevy years ago. I also had a 34 Plymouth I painted 65 Ford truck turquoise with black fenders. My old 48 will probably have more of a rat rod or 50s look with flat primer looking paint and Olds fiesta flipper hubcaps on stock Mopar wheels...

You asked for opinions are what good are they if not honest. The paint combo sounds very cool. Very cool. Two tones look good to me on old iron. OTOH, I hope you are kidding about the rest because your fake fur interior idea admittedly made me a little queasy.
My 59 is going to some day be 2 toned also, but with a little bit different color..........I might get flamed, i know the clowns i work with hassle me about it.
The main color will be the baby blue it is now (see gallery) accented with "smartie pink", following the usual 2 tone lines of the body.
Right now i have the front rims painted this hot pink with a baby moon cap and white walls out and i love the vibrant color of this pink i think it will show nice with the baby blue. I will post pics in my gallery with the finished rims when i can get my oil pump problem sorted out.
