Fuel Pump Fuse Location
I have posted this question in the computer chip forum also but was hoping to get more info here. I have a 2002 F-250 Superduty, crewcab 4x4 with the 6.8L V-10, auto trans. I just received my Superchips Micro Tuner and the instructions have a WARNING about being sure that the fuse for the fuel pump is removed before reprogramming the computer or severe engine damage can occur. The instructions indicate that the fuse is located in the engine compartment (although they do not show an F-250). Last night (in the dark, with a flashlight) I could not find anything under the hood that looks like a fuse box. The owners manual indicates that the fuses are in the cab, under the steering wheel. Sure enough it is and fuse location #40 is for the fuel pump. I called Superchips this AM to be sure and the tech that I talked to told me there should also be a fuse under the hood (he didn't seem too sure exactly where). I found out on the Computer Chip Forum that the 2001 F-250 Power Distribution box with the fuel pump fuse is under the hood (thanks jaxf250). However, due to the warning about damaging the engine I don't want to go off half cocked.
Does anybody know if the 2002's have the fuses in the cab or, should I spend more time looking under the hood? Thanks for the assistance!
The PDB IS in in the engine compartment and fuses ARE located under the panel below the steering wheel.
The PDB should be on the driver's side towards the cab and is covered by a black plastic lid.
