hello, just curious if anyone has had any problems passing emissions after installing a full free flow exhaust, or superchip microtuner or afe cold air intake, or any combination of them all. that is going to be my set-up, so I thought I would ask. Thanks. I love this site!!!
They dont test emmisions here in Texas so I dont know first hand, but from I have heard from a few folks up in Canada who have passed with straight pipes, open element air filters, and chips. If I remember right one of them said that his readings actualy were better than they were with the stock setup.
It depends a lot on what the testing facility is looking for. Some states do a visual inspection to verify that everything is intact, like that catalytic convertor. Some merely test the exhaust for opacity, and the mods listed won't hurt in that case.

I looked on arizonas site, and it say they test on a dynamometer for exhaust opacity, unless over 8,500 pds. Then they do a snap throttle test?? my big concern is im putting on a turbo back exhaust, and want to make sure im not going to be removing anything that is standard requirement in arizona????
i was told when i removed my muffler a couple of weeks ago is that if your truck has(had) a cat, they will not emission test it.that is why i just settled for the removal of my restrictive stock muffler and straight-piped it.

man I hope you are right, I would really hate to cut out the exhaust, then find out a year later it wont go through emissions
like i said----3 different muffler shops in the area told me the same thing. see if they will do a cat-back system..do you have a cat? if you dont, i wouldn't worry about it. i did so.............

well i crawled under the truck today, and as far as I can tell it is straight off the torbo to the muffler. unless they craftilly hid the cat on the back side of the engine compartment that I cant see.
