Splitting 2.3L Header

I was wondering what would be the best way to go about splitting a header for a 2.3L 4-Banger?I was going to buy one for my Ranger and before I put it under the truck,I wanted to split it to get that classic dual tone.If any of you have ever heard it,you know what I'm talking about...It's evil .I had a 2.0L Ford Pinto one time and buddy of mine helped me split the factory manifold on it and we ran it out the back and put a Cherry Bomb Glasspack on each pipe.Man that thing was crazy. We got looks all of the time when we layed on it going through town .

Anyway...I was thinking that the best way to go about splitting the header would be to cut the collector off of the end and then you'd have the 4 pipes coming from each cylinder there bunched up together. Then, you could get a Y-Collector and put one of those over each of the 2 pipes. Then, you'd have 2 open pipes, with 2 cylinders running through each of them. Then,if you wanted to keep it emissions-legal,you could get a dual inlet/dual outlet cat converter and go ahead and weld that on.Then, run the 2 pipes out of the end of that, attach your mufflers, and you're set.Yeah,I know,I know,it's alot of work, but I think that it would be work the looks that you'd get just cruising through town.I'm thinking of buying another 2.3L and stroking it.Then, put it in my Ranger so I wouldn't mess it up like it would with a 302 or a 351.Then,it would just connect right up to the factory computer and there you'd go.No probems there.

But,if someone could let me know on this header,I'd be greatful.

Here's the header that I'm thinking about buying by the way:

2.3L Ranger Header

Any insight is appreciated!!
