I have a 2000 F250 SD, 5.4, 4x4 with 82000 miles. Recently I noticed that when I brake and I am coming to a stop there is a cluck under the floor. The brakes are in good shape and it seems as if there is something shifting or banging under the truck right before I stop. Nothing looks out of place or extremely loose on the under body that would make the noise. If anyone has ideas I would appreciate it. Thanks.
I was searching on site and found your post. I am having same exact problem with same truck model (mine is crew bcab). Brake pads are in fine shape and clean.
Most likely it’s your front shackle pivots. Use a pry-bar and check the shackle pivot at the frame. Place the pry-bar between the spring eye and the frame and see if you have any play on the bolt. The tolerance between the shackle and the bolt on the superduties are not that great and after time they are know to oval out. If its not there, check the u-bolts, or the front spring hanger. If you feel the cluck right under your feet it’s the shackle in most cases.
My F-250 is less than a week old and the other morning was doing it in forward and reverse. It sounded like it was coming from the wheels. I hit it pretty good a couple times and went on my way. I planned on having the dealer look at it next time over but now it's not doing it.

Had the same problem since last summer, got louder over time. I have 70,000 miles, is started at 60,000. The left side ball joints we're worn out [they have no grease fittings] replaced upper and lower ball joints & u-joint while it was apart and problem was solved. Passenger side is still ok. Make sure new ball joints come with zerk fittings. 99 F-350 crew cab 4x4, V-10
I get a clunk that seems to come from the rear brakes. It only happens sometimes and has been doing it since it was new. Does not seem to affect anything.
