I have a 97 Expedition EB with the third row seat & I saw a bracket on ebay a couple of months ago that holds the third row seat in a upright position . Held by the 2front hooks and the bracket went on the rear part . Anybody know what Im talking about & know where to get it ? Yes I know I should have bought it when I saw it but hey iI was lazy Thanx in advance
Eddy,
The one Paul left a link to seems like a winner to me. I bought one of those brackets to hold the seat up from e-bay a while back (same principle but different type of bracket). It works fine but is a pain in the butt to push the seat forward, hold the bracket down and put a pin through the bracket to hold the seat. The link Paul left seems so much easier.
I received this response from Knoxx Industries (The makers of the cargo strut):
___________________________________
We did manufacture the Cargo Strut line but discontinued it in July. We have a few left for Ford Excursions but that is it. There are none left in the supply chain at any level for the other versions. We are entertaining offers for the patent and engineered drawings should anyone want to go into business.

Having lifted my third seat out of the back of my Expy more often than I care to admit, I like the idea of the strut, as it secures the top of the seat, providing a third attachment point. Always a good idea, as no one wants to cap off a head-on collision with that seat coming up to meet you.
I don't know if the older years are similar, but my 2000 XLT Expy has a support to hold the 3rd row seat in an upright position.
Under the seat in the center of the cargo area is a fold down support. You tilt the seat forward and stand up the support and it clips onto the bar that you use when you want to pull out the rear seat.
It is held tilted forward. This greatly increases the rear cargo storage area without having to remove the 3rd row seat.

thats the style Im looking for . I need this cause I carry alot of stuff like motors and other big things & when I take the seat out I feel lazy to put it back in and it stays in the house for like a week . Personaly I think the truck looks cheap without the 3rd seat in, & I hate driving it around like that.
Just a note from a new guy I have the one from e-bay in my 99 that uses the pin in bracket support and I feel it is the best option for 99 & older expy's because the strut type takes up storage space due to the angle from the seat-back to the latch point in the floor & I think it wont hold the seat back there in the event of a crash as were my style comes with hooks in the front. hope this helps
