Question Anyone using POR15 engine paint?

How does it work and is it a reasonable match for factory.

Never heard of it
I go with Duplicolor ( I think )
Or whatever Oreillys sells. Very good highheat ceramic paint
From what i've used it matches quite well.
If you use it, let us know how it turns out

I've got some por 15 ordered for something else to try it out.

We will see how it works.

The ceramic stuff is by far the best out of a spray can, but I'm looking for something that is a bit more durable.

FWIW: http://www.por15.com/product.asp?productid=319

I used VHTs special hi-temp paint. One would think for $6 a can it would be great. Most of it is on the ground now. I am going to have to pull the enigne again and give it a good paint job with some o'reilleys brand.

I've used POR15 and had very good luck with it. It seems to be extremely resistant to the high heat. It fades if it is exposed to ultraviolet light (sunlight) however, but if you plan on having a hood this shouldn't be a problem...

I used it, medium Ford blue on my Galaxie engine, and the semi gloss black to touch up the engine bay, look's good and I only used a brush.

The blue turned black around the exhaust, but is still glossy. I also prepped the block with their metal degreaser, then the metal prep.....

Next time around I would spray it though....

I painted my 390 ford blue and it looks awsome and it works great, i also painted my entire frame inside and out por-15 and it is rock solid. I would recommend it to anybody, it looks wet all of the time so it gives a good look and it really bonds well to metal.

Great stuff
