Nope, there are plenty of post regarding brakes, just do a search and you will find them. I believe one of them is just a few down.
You can always upgrade to an aftermarket rotor and pad, seems that is the only fix other than repeated visits to the dealer.
I own a 99PSD and a 01F250 and have not expierenced problems with either truck, (knock on wood)
Rotors are thinner and lighter(fuel mileage) tend to heat up quicker ,possible different hardness??(so they can sell you new ones)
brake pads are different material, abs brake systems can cause problems
Being these are trucks were talking about there heavey !takes some stopping power to stop them.
There is good after market stuff out there
I have a 2000 F250 Super-Duty 4 X 4. I have a noticeable SHIMMY when the brakes are applied at about 50 MPH. Have taken it to the dealer twice to have rotors machined & problem returns after a few weeks. I've just learned to live with it since I am nearly out of warranty.
Sounds like After-Market parts may be the solution.
I had my stock front rotors turned 4 times before I bought Raybestos drilled rotors. I thought that would cure the problem but it hasn't, I just have to have them turned less frequently. I just recently replaced my rears with stockers. Ofcourse both my front and rear are presently in need of a fresh turning. As bad as it sounds, it's kinda nice to hear of others having this problem, I thought I had the only SD with crappy rotors.
