When ever I see another 99 or newer SD, I always look to see which engine it has...emblem on the door, most always a PDS..rest are on the front part of the fender...untill today Seen a SD that didn't have an emblem in either place. Looked at it more closely and here the V-10 stick on emblem was located in the lower part of the fender just ahead of the door hinge. Anyone ever seen one like this? Got me to thinking, might have been a "crashed job" and this is where the owner wanted them put. I thought it looked like S%$#! Any ideas about this one?
I have seen a couple V8's that way. I don't know why either. Hey, what part of KS are you in? Couple of us trying to get them to open a KS chapter like they have with MO.
KC area (Overland Park). There are quite a few of us running around here. Not very many in the V10 forum though. Like I said, we are trying to get a KS chapter/forum opened. For the time being, most of us post in the Missouri forum.
There are indeed several places that the emblems are placed. I think it was part of an appearance package. I have also seen PSD trucks and vans with stickers on the front of the fenders liek the Triton V8 "V8" sticker only it says "Power Stroke Diesel V8"
Actually, I think that in 2001 they moved the PSD badge to the door, a friend has a '99 PSD w/ the badge on the fender behind the headlight (looks like a triton badge, but says powerstroke), and my boss has an '02 with it on the door. All of the '04s I have seen with gas motors have no badges at all.
My '04 V10 has the emblem right behind the headlight. All of the SD's I saw at the dealer had badges, gas or PSD. There was one that only had one badge though. It had the V8 badge on the passenger side but not on the driver's side. I wonder what kind of "appearance package" that was.
