Ok this may sound like a dumb question, but yesterday one of my pully's crapped out on me and after replacing it the belt doesn't fit right. I have looked at the tensioner and it is at the limits, does anyone know there is something else that can come loose, that would give me that extra slack. It still turns, but with little effort I could pull it off, thanks for your time...
did you get a new belt, if so keep in mind they come in two different lenghts , one for a two alternator setup and one for one alternator. if not double check how you have the belt line up around the pulleys this is were most people foul up, including myself, did a front end replacement on a mercedes and forgot how the belt was arranged , two ciggerates and twenty minutes later i finally got it.
The pully is the same as the last one and I have checked the routing and that is correct, while I was at the parts store where I put it on at I asked about an alternate belt and it was 19" shorter so that wouldn't work. Any other suggestions, thanks for the help.
Wpulod someone please pass me a shop towel to wipe this egg off my face. Upon the fifth inspection of the routing I realized I went around the wrong side of the water pump. Thanks for the help...
