Painting plastic interior panels

I have a '74 that I just finished painting in and out (looks nice!); now I want to spruce up the interior a bit.

Currently, the truck has burgundy red plastic door panels which do not match the new color scheme and I want to paint them to match, but I realize that painting flexible plastic is different than painting exterior metal body panels. I want to paint them a matching teal color, probably base coat/clear coat to get the right effect (unless I can get a single stage metal flake teal).

How should I go about the painting process to ensure the interior color will hold up to the flexible necessity of interior panels and have proper adhesion?

Where ever you bought the paint from, depending on the brand, will have vinyl dye. I know DuPont has it and im sure PPG and the other major brands do too. It gets sprayed on just like color only a little lighter coats, but your local paint jobber can give you all the details on that particular brand.

I repainted my 92 ranger last year. Went from brown to metallic blue and I did all the plastic inside with the same paint and it held up real goodfor almost a year until the truck was totaled. l I found out later that they make a flex agent you can put in the paint just for that. Also, you can go to the paint store and look your color up and find the factory interior paint that matches if you want to go that way
