curious about manual
hey everyone. i was looking at an F250 diesel and i noticed the manual shifter was nothing like my ranger, or any ford truck i've seen. the reverse was to the left like a VW and there was an "L" under it. i was just curious as to what the "L" was. if it is a low gear when would you use it. ur engine has enough power in 1st gear to pull a house.

That would be the 6-speed manual and it was first installed in the 99 psd year model and is standard equipment. If you are stopped at a lite with a 15,000 lb. trailer on an incline and you have to start from a dead stop , that granny low gear is your key to a sucessful climbing of the hill.
