Certainly hope this isn't a troll. 
You shouldn't buy a Ford over the competition.
You should FIRST consider which truck has the features and benefits that best suits YOU, your driving style, it's intended mission and what looks best to you.

I agree with Monsta, the problem is that during that time, Ford, GM, and Dodge didn't have exact same models as each other. Good luck finding a x-cab GM or Dodge in the mid 1980s.
