Rotors

Anyone know the correct size socket to remove the nut so that I can get the rotors off? I've seen both 2 1/8 and 2 3/8 referenced in different threads here. Please keep me from taking it all apart and measuring it! Thanks. This is for a 94 Explorer XLT 4X4.

it is 2 3/8. But most of the time, once you remove the nut locking key, it should be loose enough to spin off. i didnt even need a socket for the adjusting nut.

Thanks. The fact that it's lose enough to just spin off is the problem. I've had to tighten that lock ring twice in the past 6 months because the bearing had some play. I want to torque the darn thing to factory specs and see if that fixes the problem. If it doesn't, I'm sure that you'll hear back from me....Thanks again.

do you need new wheel bearings? you shouldnt have to torque it very much at all. the book says 35 ft-lbs, but you can just hand tighten it enough to where the rotor doesnt wobble when you move it around..hope this helps
