Transfer case removal
I have a 1988 F250 302 5speed 4x4.
I"m replacing my internaI slave cylinder ,clutch etc and for me to get to the parts I first need to first pull off my transfer case then the transmission. This is a huge transfer case and tranny.
I followed all the steps in the Haynes manual and everything is going smooth until it was time to slide back the transfer case. This thing wont' budge..
I have two safety straps supporting the case along with a stand ready to place this monster down but the case will not slide back.
Any suggestion on how I can get this case loose so I can slide back far enough to remove and set down
Really do appreciate someone's experience so I can get this done.
Remove the stand and straps until its broke loose from the tranny. It lines up on a dowel pin and the tranny output shaft sticks out about 2 inches into the x-fer case, so its not going to fall until you slide it back a few inches.
