That Edelbrock 573 on ebay ended up selling for $142. I'm starting to wish I hadn't bought this Offenhauser intake. Turns out that my Offy intake has a hole between the exhaust crossover and the intake plenum.
Paul, Can you weld the hole up ? Maybe someone near you have a small torch head on a TIG and build it back up inside the plenum. If you can'nt try using some Liquid Metal in there. I have some that will withstand over 1000 degrees. I've used the stuff on things for years with great success. Or even good old JB weld from Wal-Mart should do you fine, they have regular and high temperature both. If you lived near me a could TIG it for you. I have a really small torch I use on small things. Wonder If Carl's staying warm today ??
PST, I've considered cutting the bottom off the plenum of the intake to get access to the hole to weld it, and I've considered epoxy of some sort. I'll probably go with the epoxy but cutting the bottom off would give me a chance to make that intake more of a dual plane then it currently is.
It has been very cold in New England. I'll bet Carl is hunkered down for the time being. It has been cool here in Idaho, too, but I'm still out working in the garage.
Come on Carl just sell some of those goodies you have lying around hidden from all of us and get youself a nice shinny new Blue Thunder intake. Then you can send Larry & Paul a picture of it to drool on. I know it might not look as cool as that 573, but my friend bought one for his 312 and it really made that engine come alive. But make sure to save a little money for that new intake that might surface this summer. Signed Freezing Cold In Indiana
