ive put electric fuel pumps in line on both carb and efi trucks. on the efi you have to splice into the tank wireing . keeps things working better the higher pressure efi pumps have to be secured to some sort of rubber mount , thay dont need to be grounded,. there are some who say that the fuel keeps the efi in tank pumps cool and so you shouldnt use them outside it . i havent had any problems . when i first did one i did a test with a pump and circulated it for over an hour , it did get warm but not excessive . i wont recomend doing it to any one else but up here we sometimes have to make do with what we have, good luck, bob

^ Fuel is pumped through the electric motor of the pump to keep it cool and lubricated. As long as it is pumping fuel, it should stay cool.
