Well, being the owner of a Ford p/u, AND a Toyota 4Runner , I have a couple I can share with you. I have found alot depends on your interests reguarding your truck. Try these-4x4Wire's TrailTalk Forums,Pirate4x4.com, YotaTech's Toyota Forums, and Toyota's at OffRoad.com. There's others, but these are the main ones I look at. if i didnt feel the need to have a big engine i would buy a toyota. They are great and thier trucks and 4runners are great off roaders, especially the older ones. The fj40's are awesome too. Id buy one of those before a jeep anyday.
Yeah, me too. I fantasized about that fj40 for a long time. They are available and fairly re-buidable (a lot like Land Rovers in that respect) but I'm not looking for a project truck any more and I'm not headed into the Seringetti or Darien where I need a vehicle like that; which is why I bought the F-350.... for camper weight. I need comfort and luxury. However, if (and that's IF writ large) Toyota ever delivered to the US a full size diesel truck that could carry a camper I could see myself buying one.
www.tacomaterritory.com ...........they have all kinds of crazy dudes dumpin' $$$$$ into those trucks, a wealth of info, mainly for the Taco, but there are a few mini's and 4runners on there as well....BTW, my cousin does custom FJ40 restorations and rock buggies for anyone in Va....
