new here..engine problems on 95

hey everyone.i was sent here from the zcar forum...hope you guys can help me.
i will try to make this as short as possible.--i have a 95 anger 2.3 5spd.i did not tighten plugs tight eneough in one cyl. and they burned out within...1 month.seriously burned out a asin nothing left.i have been told that i have 4 lbs in one cylinder due to burned exhaust valve.
1.would leaving a plug way loose cause them to burn out?(i assume it burned out due to escaping exhaust gases)
1b- would this also cause vaves to burn up?...super lean mixture?
2.could exhaust lifters b e stuck open and still run without noise?
3.where is the ignition module located on this truck....i could not find it anywhere.----just in case compression is ok(havent checked myself) ....it is showing a misfire code and everything else has been checked.-----------thanks in advance.

Well it would seem that only one of the plugs would have burned out (the one that was loose). As for the valve issue, I would not see the vavle burning up, the engine would have run badly. If it was stuck open.. it would eith be from a bent vavle or a a large carbon build up. I don't see how this is possible with all the exhaust excaping from the spark plug hole.

With a loose plug, not only can exhaust leak, but air can be pulled into the cylinder during intake, causing a lean condition.
A lean condition could burn a valve, but this would take time.
If the plug was loose, I would expect it to blow all the way out.

Welcome to FTE!!!

I would suspect that a part of the plug that is missing hung the valve open and cause it to burn.

You have a coil pack type ignition, the PCM controls the coil pack, no module.

for kicks--is there a way to test the pcm?is the pcm also called the ecm?
i have lost/or never had the piece that screws into the head for my comp tester.what i have wont allow me to screw in so far.----i will get this remidied and test myself.more than likely i will need to pull the head.i suspect part of the spark plug or melted plastic from a spark plug holder fell in......this is a very painful lesson about paying attention.
thanks for replying.hope you guys will be around in the next few days as well as i am sure i will be needing some help when i pull the head.if comp. bad i guess i have no choice..right?----thanks for the help.---btw what should compression be for my 2.3 liter?

If you pull the codes and get a pass then the PCM is OK.

If you get a low reading sqirt a little oil in and see if it changes, if it does you have ring problems. I would expect it to be around 120-160 psi and should be about 15% of the others.
