resale value

after reading a few threads from people who want to use a stock CD player I've been wondering this
if you had 2 IDENTICAL trucks except one had a stock CD, and the other had an aftremarket CD, would one truck be worth more, or is a CD a CD assuming its installed in a clean professional manner?

9 times out of 10, unless you have some monster system to go with it, it will not effect the resale value at all. The only time it will make a difference is when it is some really expensive radio. then it might up the value.

If it was something like a Machintosh radio or like OJ said a real exspensive radio then it might but not by much. You could lose money on a trade in by not having oem parts on your truck. A friend of mine got a 4 runner with a nice system in it and he didn't pay anything extra for the truck. He brought the truck into a stereo shop for a blown speaker and the shop reconized the truck cause they did the system. It was a $7000 system "so they said" but with whats in it I'm sure it cost alot, but if my buddy didn't pay extra for the truck can u imagine the beating the previous owner took?

the best way to handel this is ask more for the truck with the after markert cd. but be readly to take less. the right person will pay more for the truck with the new cd player. so will not. just hope the one that will buys it.
